Winifred Grace Baldock was the second of William Stanley Baldock and Jessie Frances Brooks’s nine children, born at Newtown in 1895.1 She died there in 1897 — the same year her brother Harold Roy was born — not yet two years old. Whether she died before or after Harold’s birth that April is not established. She is remembered, alongside her elder brother William Stanley jr, on her parents’ own headstone at Rookwood, by her pet name, “Winnie.”
