Eight Years
Caroline Mary Bawn
1845–1854
The third child, baptised at her mother’s own church, dead before her ninth birthday.
- Born
- 4 October 1845 · Sydney
- Died
- 18 March 1854 · Camperdown/Newtown, aged 8
Caroline Mary was born on 4 October 1845 in Sydney and baptised at St Philip’s — her mother Ellen’s own church.1 She died on 18 March 1854, not yet nine years old, and was buried in the Camperdown/Newtown area, six years before her mother would be buried nearby.2
A younger sister, born the following year, was given the same middle name. It is a reasonable guess, though not a documented one, that she was named in Caroline’s memory.
