The McIntosh Family · Robert McIntosh & Eleanor Dudgeon

Mary McIntosh

1815–?

Born the year after the family arrived — married a Sergeant-Major of the regiment that relieved her father’s own.

Married
George Wilson, Sergeant-Major, 48th Regiment

Mary was born 2 June 1815 in Sydney and baptised there on 25 June — the first of Robert and Eleanor’s children born in the colony. She married George Wilson, Sergeant-Major of the 48th (Northamptonshire) Regiment — the very regiment that relieved the 46th in New South Wales in 1817 — around 1834. She was among the witnesses called to the 1851 Supreme Court trial over her brother Robert’s inheritance, where the jury viewed her alongside her brothers James, Robert and John to weigh the family resemblance.
