Joseph Sindel (m. 1872)

Margaret Cook was born on 9 July 1849 — named, perhaps, for her father’s surviving sister — and baptised with her sisters at St Andrew’s, Sydney, on 15 October 1853.1

On 17 January 1872, at St John’s Church, Adaminaby, on the Monaro, the Rev. Thomas Druitt married her to Joseph Sindel, son of Robert Sindel of Queanbeyan. The notice gave her as ‘third daughter of the late Alexander Curry Cooke, Esq., M.D., of Sydney, formerly of Glasgow’.2
